The QUAKES and SIZZLE organizations are proud to announce the merger and reformation of NEBRASKA GOLD.
Several years ago, the Quakes and Sizzle organizations collaborated to form an 18U team, Nebraska Gold. As those players aged out, the team dissolved, but discussions continued regarding the potential of a long term approach to merging players from the 2 organizations forming several teams that would compete at the gold level nationally. With the current quality of the 16U & 18U players in our organizations, the concept has been rejuvenated, and in 2012 there will be 3 Nebraska Gold teams (1-16U and 2-18U).
This collaborative effort between our organizations at the upper competitive end will also strengthen the already solid foundation that exists in the younger age groups by providing a feeder program to these elite teams.
Although the name Nebraska Gold is different, these teams will remain parent teams of both organizations and the associations, traditions, and pride of the Quakes and Sizzle will be prominent.
The reputation of the Quakes and Sizzle organizations in softball circles is very positive, and the creation of these new teams will help reinforce our status as leaders both on and off the field. Everyone connected with these organizations, past and present, have worked extremely hard to provide young ladies with an opportunity to compete locally, regionally, and nationally, and those efforts will not be lost in this merger. In fact, both organizations will still continue to have Quakes and Sizzle named teams at all age levels, including 16U & 18U.
